Dr. Animesh Dey

Job Titles:
  • Co - Founder / Chief Product Development Officer
  • Co - Founder / Chief Product Development Officer ( CPDO )
Dr. Dey has the responsibility for leading the development of advanced engineering algorithms into operational software. His expertise is in the development and application of probabilistic reliability software and probabilistic computational models for use by industrial clients. He has over 15 years of experience and expertise in developing probabilistic simulation algorithms across several industrial sectors, including aerospace, automotive, heavy machinery and medical devices. Shortly after starting VEXTEC, he developed specialty reliability software for DaimlerChrylser. It enabled DaimlerChrysler to significantly reduce integrated product testing and has been used by over 100 trained users. In addition to his commercial experience, Animesh has designed software architectures and developed software for over 20 different DoD programs for the Air Force, Navy, Army, NASA and DARPA programs. He has published over 30 technical papers including articles in accepted engineering trade journals. He is co-inventor on 5 patents. Animesh obtained his Masters and PhD in structural engineering from Vanderbilt University. He received his undergraduate degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in 1991.

Dr. Robert Tryon - CTO, Founder

Job Titles:
  • Chief Technology Officer
  • Co - Founder
Dr. Tryon has established a world-wide reputation in engineering fatigue analysis and computational material science. In addition to being a VEXTEC co-founder, he is the inventor of VEXTEC's patented probabilistic, microstructural simulation approach known today as Virtual Life Management® (VLM®). His research initiated the Federal government's grant funding of VEXTEC which has resulted in $25 million since the company's inception. His research has been reviewed by scientific fellows within Air Force, Navy, Army, DARPA, NASA and research institutes throughout the world. Bob began his professional career at Ford Aerospace as an electronic systems test engineer within a military development program. After leaving Ford, he became part of the GM turbine engine development team in Indianapolis and while there, he became a turbine engine component design and lifing specialist. Recognizing that probabilistic engineering analysis was the wave of the future, GM leadership asked Bob to pursue his PhD in that area under GM's sponsorship. He studied at Vanderbilt and obtained research fellowships from NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and NASA Lewis (Glenn) Research Center. Just as he finished his work at Vanderbilt, GM sold the turbine engine division to Rolls Royce, at which time Dr. Tryon decided to leave GM and pursue a career as an independent consultant. In addition to obtaining his PhD in 1996, Dr. Tryon received his undergraduate and master engineering degrees from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He has published over 30 papers, including articles in accepted engineering journal publications. Additionally, he holds 7 patents.
