MCDC builds on a substantial and successful training and capacity building programme supported by the Gates Malaria Partnership (GMP). MCDC's wider network includes experienced post-doctoral researchers, known as 'MCDC investigators' who obtained their PhDs through the GMP programme and are now based in a number of different academic and research institutions worldwide... Within the Malaria Capacity Development Consortium (MCDC) we strive to improve malaria research capacity in Africa. We are a consortium of nine partners, five African and four European universities, all of whom have extensive experience in malaria research... The Malaria Capacity Development Consortium supports African universities, PhD students and postdocs to strengthen malaria research capacity in Africa.
