Alpha was founded by natural health pioneer Siegfried Gursche and his wife Christel in 1964, operating until 2005 as Teldon of Canada Ltd. Long regarded as the father of natural health in Canada, Siegfried has been deeply involved in all aspects of the industry and has always made the health of others his priority. While owning a small bookstore in Vancouver in the 1950s, Siegfried noticed that many of his customers could not access the herbal medicines and food supplements in the nutritional books they were reading.
