EMILY JOHNSON

Job Titles:
  • LICENSING SPECIALIST
Emily received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky. She has served in multiple social service settings since graduation, including a food pantry and homeless shelter. Emily joined the Childplace team in May of 2018 as an administrative assistant in the counseling office. She transitioned to her current role in foster care in 2020. Emily provides licensing services and also serves families in the agency's private adoption program.

JEN FISTER

Job Titles:
  • FOSTER CARE PROGRAM SUPERVISOR
Jen received her MSW from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa specializing in Children and Family Studies. Jen joined the Childplace team in 2014. Throughout her 13 years of professional experience, she has worked with state social service agencies, prospective foster and adoptive families, and children in foster care. She also obtained her CSW certification in the state of Kentucky and LSW certification in the state of Indiana. As a licensed Social Worker, Jen provides guidance and oversight to the agency's adoption program.

KENZIE HUTTON

Job Titles:
  • LICENSING SPECIALIST
Kenzie received her MSSW from the University of Louisville and is licensed in the state of Indiana as a clinical social worker. Following her graduate studies, she served in the foster care and adoption program at Childplace for six years and returned to Childplace in early 2023 as a home study practitioner. She provides training and assessment services to families in the foster care and adoption programs to promote permanency and effective care for children.

LAUREN GANOTE

Job Titles:
  • Therapist
Lauren is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with her Masters in Social Work and Masters in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Louisville. She has been a practicing clinician since 2019 with a background in working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. She has been trained in both Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help children and families heal in the aftermath of trauma. Lauren believes whole heartedly in working together with families and other support systems to help her clients build resiliency and work towards healthy attachments. In her free time, Lauren loves to spend time with her husband and two dogs as well as singing, dancing, or reading.

LISA RUSHER

Job Titles:
  • THERAPIST
Lisa began her employment with Childplace in 1998. She received her MSSW through the University of Louisville. Lisa has her certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She has completed the University of Louisville's Juvenile Sexual Offender Counselor Certification Program. Lisa also has received the title of Master Addiction Counselor through the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals.

Lori Brooks

Job Titles:
  • FOSTER CARE CASE MANAGER
Lori received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Campbellsville University specializing in Child Welfare. She joined the Childplace team in August and has worked with children and families in a variety of settings throughout her adult life including day care management, teaching preschool, and volunteering with a foster and adoptive ministry. Lori provides cases management support to children and foster families.

MASHIUR KHAN

Job Titles:
  • PSYCHIATRIST
Mashiur Khan, MD began his employment with Childplace in 2014. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his general psychiatry residency through the University of Louisville, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He completed his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship through the University of Louisville, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science. He has experience in working with children, adolescents, adults and families. Dr. Khan is also a board-certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.

MELISSA WILSON

Job Titles:
  • CLINICAL SERVICES PROGRAM SUPERVISOR
Melissa began her employment with Childplace in 2012. She received her MSSW through the University of Louisville. She has served in multiple roles within the agency and started her current position in 2015. She has her certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Melissa has completed the Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner training. She has experience in working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, experienced foster care and children and adolescents who have been adopted.

SUSAN ROBINSON

Job Titles:

Susan began her employment with Childplace in 2010. She received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Indiana University. She obtained her LCSW and LMFT license in 1993. She also has her certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Susan has extensive previous experience working in private practice and community based services.
