Bri joined The Center as a volunteer in April 2022 and as temporary respite staff in October 2022. She greatly enjoys working with older adults and individuals with special needs. She moved to North Carolina in 2021 and previously volunteered as an EMT. Bri's hobbies include hiking, crafts, cooking, and playing with her two cats.

Caley Henley

Caley joined The Center in November 2022. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor of science in Psychology and a minor in Education. When she isn't working, Caley loves to bake, spend time outdoors, and cheer on the Tar Heels!

Chloe Beal

Chloe joined The Center in March of 2023 as a Program Intern while finishing her bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Biological Sciences at North Carolina State University. After graduation, Chloe joined The Center's staff full time. When not working at The Center, she does contract work as a psychometrist for a school psychologist, spends times with friends, and enjoys hiking and running.

Cynthia is retired from the U.S. Army and U.S. Postal Service. She has been a volunteer with The Center for Volunteer Caregiving since August 2020. She has enjoyed her volunteer visits with care receivers and looks forward to helping even more in this temporary staff role.

DeAnne Dotson

DeAnne is a native North Carolinian who has lived and traveled all over the world. She has backpacked across 60 countries and all 7 continents, enjoying the food, the culture, and the people she encountered along the way. Her commitment to nonprofits began at a young age, watching her mom lead Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops for her and her brothers. After graduating from UNC-G, she volunteered with Americorps, The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, the USO, and USCRI. In her free time, she reads way too much true crime and travels every chance she gets.

Elaine Whitford

Elaine joined The Center as Executive Director in June 2018, bringing 20+ years of nonprofit leadership. Immediately before joining The Center, she was the Director of Development at Disability Rights North Carolina. As a volunteer and a professional, Elaine has led many successful nonprofit communications, development, and events activities. She has served on multiple nonprofit boards in the Wake County community. Elaine is an enthusiastic proponent of The Center's volunteer services, which support the growing needs of Wake County older adults, family caregivers, and adults with disabilities who are living independently. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor's degree in Economics and received her juris doctorate from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

Elizabeth Jordan

Elizabeth returned to The Center as the In-Home Connections Program Coordinator in September 2023 after working in that position from June 2019 to March 2021. In March 2024, she became a Program Manager and oversees both the In-Home Connections and Transportation programs at The Center. Elizabeth received her master's degree in Gerontology from UNC Greensboro in 2019. As a Gerontologist, her career has focused on serving aging adults in all steps of their journey. From 2021 until her return, she assisted aging adults in applying for Long-Term Care Medicaid benefits and provided care coordination for those in hospice care. During that time, she worked with patients and their families to find the right resources within our community to best help them age well at home. Elizabeth is excited to step back into serving care receivers through the work of our wonderful volunteers.

Kelly Collins

Kelly Collins is a certified birth and postpartum doula and family consultant. She has been working as a professional family caregiver for nearly 24 years and enjoys supporting families in various capacities. Originally from Georgia, she has called Raleigh home since 2003 when she arrived to attend college. Kelly is actively involved in the community as a volunteer with several organizations, and she teaches Zumba. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and baking, skating, paintball, hitting golf balls at the driving range, connecting with nature and spending time with her husband and son.

Lisa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a bachelor's and master's degree in Social Work. Her career focus has been working in healthcare and aging settings serving those in hospice care and the ALS community. During that time she worked with both patients and family caregivers and is a strong advocate for self-care, respite services, and living the best life one can.

Rick is retired from a corporate career in accounting and business management. He now keeps himself busy by sharing his skills with the non-profit sector and with his ongoing civic engagement through Rotary International.
