St. Lawrence School, established in 1869 and operated by Franciscan nuns, has been a cornerstone of the Lawrenceburg community for more than 150 years. In the early part of the 20th century, Father William Kreis took the initiative to build St. Lawrence a modern school. After nine years of fundraising, planning, and construction, the school and convent for the Franciscan nun who would teach the students opened in the fall of 1927. Over the years, the school has had several additions, most recently in 2003 with the completion of four classrooms and the Father Jack Hartzer multi-purpose room... St. Lawrence School promotes strong academic and spiritual growth for all students by providing a quality Catholic education. We are committed to teach as Jesus taught, guided by the principles of our faith, enabling students to live out the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.
