Dr. James D Callahan

Dr. Jamie Callahan, DMD, graduated with a BA in business from the University of Florida in 1996 and also earned his DMD from the University of Florida in 2000. Following graduation, Dr. Callahan completed a year long hospital based dental residency with an emphasis on surgery at the University of Washington, where he spent time in 4 different hospitals including working in a children's hospital and a level one trauma center. That experience was invaluable training in learning to treat our growing number of medically complex patients. Dr. Callahan is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the Escambia-Santa Rosa Dental Association. He was the past president of the Esca_Rosa Dental Association and served on the board for 4 years. For the past 5 years he has served on the advisory panel for the Dental Hygiene degree program at Pensacola State College.

Dr. Stephen E Smith

Dr. Steve Smith, DMD, is a native of Pensacola and provides Comprehensive Dental Care at Bayou Dental. He graduated from Wake Forest University in 2009 and then accepted an Officer Commission into the U.S. Navy through the Health Services Collegiate Program. He attended the University of Alabama School of Dentistry at UAB in Birmingham, AL, and graduated in 2014. Dr. Smith completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, during which he gained extensive training in Oral Surgery, Digital Dentistry, and General Dentistry Treatment planning. His Navy career led Dr. Smith to serve as Department Head of the Naval Family Branch Health Clinic in Atsugi, Japan and then returned to Pensacola to Head the Dental Clinic of the Naval Air Technical Training Center. Dr Smith is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the EscaRosa Dental Society. He also has served as a Team Trainer for the American Hospital Association's TeamSTEPPs curriculum. He is committed to providing the highest quality of dental care to his patients and seeks to promote high reliability and patient safety through a strong commitment to teamwork and communication.
