Dr. Sorina Mortada

Dr. Sorina Mortada, technical consultant to the LCEC, is currently advising the team members and liaising their activities in several projects: BUILD_ME, COOL_ME, BIM for Energy Efficiency in the Public Sector (BEEP), the National Heat Pumps Project, NEEAP (2021-2025), NREAP (2021-2025) and the Energy Conservation law. Sorina is also managing the development and evaluation of the RFP for the CSP feasibility study in Hermel. Dr. Mortada's scope of work includes also developing projects proposals and constantly looking for funds to initiate new projects. Sorina developed the Second National Energy Efficiency Action Plan for Lebanon (NEEAP, and was a main author in the National Renewable Action Plan for Lebanon (NREAP) and the Renewable Energy Outlook for Lebanon. She also developed and authored of the First Energy Indicators Report of the Republic of Lebanon. Her prior experience in France focused on projects related to the design of multi-source heat pumps for low energy buildings, environmental behavior of existing French dwellings and heating/ cooling systems, depollution, heat recovery, organic Rankine cycles, among others. Sorina holds a Ph.D. degree in Energy from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines-Paris. She has studied mechanical engineering at the Lebanese University, Faculty of Engineering, and has earned a master degree from the University Pierre and Marie Curie in Paris, France. Dr. Mortada is also associate professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the Lebanese University- Hadath Campus.

Farah Mawla

Farah Mawla is Senior Specialist-PR & Communication Coordinator at the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation since 2014. She is also a member of the Executive Board of the LCEC. Farah manages the communication and PR with LCEC stakeholders. She maintains active communication with national and international partners through sharing regular announcements, news and press releases and through her direct involvement in the preparation of events' agenda, invitation and ensuring smooth running of the events. Farah believes that integrity, hard work, professionalism, leading by example and taking ownership are needed to secure the trust of others. Farah also believes in the importance of maintaining cohesive teams and creating marketing opportunities. Farah holds a Master's degree in International Law and International Relations and a Bachelor's degree in Lebanese Law and Political Sciences from the Saint Joseph University.

Ghada Daouk

Ghada Daouk joined the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation as an Energy Engineer in March 2021. Ghada mainly works on the Energy Smart Mediterranean Schools Network (ESMES) targeting the optimization of energy use in public schools through innovative monitoring-based RE and EE pilot actions. Coming from an engineering background, she believes in the unlimited possibilities found in the domain of energy efficiency and renewable energy that provide energy access to a larger number of people, and positively impact the environment through reducing hazardous emissions leading to mitigating the impact of climate change. Ghada has previously worked as an Electrical Design Engineer in an engineering consultancy/construction company, delivering electrical solutions for various types of projects including hospitals, schools, residential buildings and others. Ghada is a Pan Arab Certified Energy Management Professional, issued in cooperation between RCREEE and the Jordanian Engineers Association JEA-ETC and holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut.

Hadi Abou Moussa

Hadi Abou Moussa joined the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation as an Energy Engineer in February 2021. He is mainly in charge of the implementation of new decentralized PV systems with partners, the development of the PV status report for Lebanon and other market studies, in addition to the support on the CSP feasibility study in Hermel. Hadi believes that both small and large scale renewable energy technologies are an inevitable need for the electricity sector in Lebanon. He also believes that by joining LCEC, he can directly contribute to moving this sector forward, where dedication, holistic planning, and accurate decisions are the adequate tools for reaching successful achievements. Before joining LCEC, Hadi had the chance to work on the design and installation of on-grid and off-grid solar PV systems with Yelloblue. Hadi has a double major in Physics and Electrical & Mechanical Engineering from Saint Joseph University.

Jana Merheb

Jana Merheb holds the position of Administrative Assistant at the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation since 2015. She supports the engineering team in its activities including translation of documents and correspondences and is responsible for the smooth running of the engineering office.

Jawad Jawad

Jawad Jawad is the courier and logistics assistant at the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation since 2019. His main tasks include driving staff members and visitors when needed, maintaining office cars, assisting in procuring office supplies and collecting and distributing courier.

Joelle Kachouh

Joelle Kachouh is the Senior Financial Specialist at the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation since 2020. She handles all the accounting and financial activities and assists in the preparation of financial reports related to various donor-funded projects. Joelle believes that team work, commitment and adaptability are the key to success. Joelle has worked as a Senior Estimator & Project Coordinator at Bois D'Afrique handling the project management department including the procurement and cost control sections. Joelle holds a Master's degree (M1) in Business Administration & Management from the Saint Joseph University.

Paul Bou Issa

Paul Bou Issa is a Senior Technician-Site Coordinator at the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation since 2015. His main tasks are to supervise the implementation of solar PV and solar street lighting projects, follow-up on the operation and maintenance of the completed solar PV, solar street lighting and DNI weather stations, participate in the NEEREA site visits and site assessment for new solar PV and solar street light projects, and assist with technical studies.

Pierre El Khoury

Rola Tabbara

Rola Tabbara is the Senior Administrative Director at the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation since its inception. Rola provides all aspects of administrative, financial, procurement and human resources services at LCEC and is also a member of the Executive Board of the LCEC. Rola is responsible for the smooth running of all operations at LCEC and for the development of rules, regulations and policies, their successful implementation and constant update and revision to maintain a steady evolution of LCEC towards excellence. Rola believes that her contribution in promoting and implementing the projects and activities related to renewable energy and energy efficiency is rewarding since it benefits the Lebanese community. Rola worked at Xerox Middle East, Eastern and Southern Africa in U.A.E as the Administrative Assistant before later joining UNDP in Lebanon as the Administrative Assistant for two consecutive projects that contributed to the inception of LCEC. Rola is a Certified Professional from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Health from the American University of Beirut.
