Dr. Jaideep Mehta

Jaideep Mehta, MD, MBA, FASA, is a Double board-certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine physician at University Pain. Dr. Mehta diagnoses and treats acute, cancer and chronic pain with the goal of restoring his patients' functionality so they can get back to enjoying their active lifestyle. Dr. Mehta began his higher education with a bachelor's degree in environmental science from the University of California at Berkeley. He then attended the University of Chicago, where he earned a Master of Business Administration in Strategy and Finance. Subsequently, he went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine at St. George's University School of Medicine. After completing his internship in internal medicine at Mt. Sinai Icahn School of Medicine, Dr. Mehta went on finish his residency in anesthesiology at George Washington University. He then completed a fellowship in interventional chronic and cancer pain at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. This fellowship gave him the training he needed to become an interventional pain specialist in treating degenerative disease and sports injuries of the spine, back, hip, and knee. Nationally, Dr. Jaideep Mehta he has been recognized as one of the top physicians performing the Minimally Invasive Ligament Decompression "MILD" procedure and the Vertiflex procedures. Dr. Mehta is renowned for his deep knowledge of lumbar spinal stenosis, post-laminectomy - failed back syndrome, neuromodulation, and minimally invasive technologies to help address chronic neck, low back, joint and cancer pain. He focuses on returning patients to their active lifestyles and ensuring quick recoveries. Pain of the shoulders, knees and feet are an additional area that Dr. Mehta has become highly regarded for his skill in treating, especially in patients seeking to avoid or delay painful joint replacement surgeries. Dr. Mehta's background not only includes training at some of the leading academic medical centers in the US, but also includes his years of experience teaching on the faculty at the University of Texas Houston McGovern Medical School in the Department of Anesthesiology. While serving at the McGovern Medical School, Dr. Mehta rose to the rank of Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and served for many years as the Director of Acute Pain Medicine Service at Memorial Hermann - The Texas Medical Center. Dr. Mehta is an active member and serves on various committees of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Harris County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, and North American Neuromodulation Society.

Edeline Mutanga

Edeline Mutanga is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Interventional Pain Management at University Pain Associates. Edeline started her nursing career after obtaining an Associate degree in Nursing in 2001. She later received her Bachelors Degree of Nursing from State University of New York (SUNY) Institute of Technology. She then graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical with a Master of Science degree in Nursing with a Distinction in 2013 as well as a minor in Nursing Education. Before embarking on furthering her education, Edeline served as a Registered Nurse for more than 13 years in various hospital settings. Edeline has more than 7 years experience in Interventional Pain Management. She provides evidence-based compassionate care to patients who suffer from chronic as well as acute pain conditions. Over the years she has gained experience assessing the need for a multimodal approach to treat pain including the use of medications, injections and advanced minimally-invasive procedures. These procedures include, but are not limited to, interspinous spacers, lateral arthrodesis, intrathecal pump implantation, peripheral nerve stimulation, sacroiliac joint stabilization, as well as spinal cord stimulation. She is skilled in offering pre and post operative care and education for such treatment options. In addition to her academic achievements, Edeline is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and is Board certified by the Texas Board of Nursing. She also has been a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International, a Nursing Honor Society. Edeline is married and has 4 children. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and attending church. She volunteers in church activities in the children's division, health promotion as well as being a women's ministry leader.
