The aim of the SAMER project is the development of a proprietary zinc-air flow battery technology for grid scale storage of renewable energy. Zinc-air flow batteries are a low cost, safe and environmentally friendly energy storage technology... Provide an energy buffer to accommodate daily variations in wind and solar energy and stabilize the grid during short-term fluctuations... Reduce dependency from fossil fuels and foreign resources and promote the use of local renewable energy, reducing imports and improving the balance of payments.
