My name is Joana Santos. Ever since I can remember, I have always loved being with children. I love to play and therefore I can easily relate to children. I also like to learn with them, to be able to teach them, to help them grow up as happy as possible. At the age of 16 I started working in a summer camp with children and youngsters and I also dedicated myself to babysitting, always alternating with my studies. I have a degree in Sociocultural Animation.

Marta Santos

Job Titles:
  • Assistant
My name is Martha Santos. I have been working as an assistant in the field of Education since 2015 in several schools in the municipality of Cascais. The experiences I had and the desire to have new professional practices led to an awakening within me an interest in the teaching methods of the Lisbon Montessori School, namely that which respects each child's individual learning pace. Therefore, it is with great satisfaction that I belong to this team where I have the opportunity to contribute to the development of children learning peacefully, with great joy and good mood, being inserted in an environment where they grow up happy, make friends for life, and feel at home. I am the mother of a 5-year-old girl who teaches me to better understand the world of children and its stages. I appreciate the beauty of nature and its breathtaking landscapes. I like animals and music.

Sara Silva

Job Titles:
  • Assistant
I am thrilled to start my role as a Montessori Assistant in the lovely Lisbon Montessori School. Throughout my life I have always been passionate about culture, music and nature using them as educational tools to bring joy, resilience and confidence to children and adults around me. It was in the summer of 2017 in South Dakota while I was interning as an anthropologist in a Native American school that I first read about the Montessori method and realized how much it resonated with what I believed to be an education for a better world. That moment I decided to become an educator and went to London to study for the AMI Assistant's certificate at the wonderful Maria Montessori Institute. Not only did it change my perspective about education itself, but it also brought amazing educators and friends into my life. I decided to stay in London working as a Montessori Assistant for the New Park Montessori school where I had the opportunity to enroll to several professional trainings and to develop my assistance skills with an amazing and lovely team.
