Amanda Bearley

Barbara Gibbs

Barbara has worked in the voluntary sector for over 35 years and has vast experience of working within the disability community. As a disabled person, Barbara has both personal and professional experiences of the education and training systems beginning with delivering training to disabled sportsmen and women; herself having achieved Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at European level and an Olympic Silver medal at the Paralympics. Following her retirement from sport Barbara gained qualifications in delivering training to adults and developed skills in designing training courses. She has been designing and delivering training courses, workshops and presentations around disability for the majority of her working career and continues to use her experiences and skills to develop bespoke training programmes that are accessible to people no matter what their impairment may be. Barbara is passionate about working within the Social Model of Disability and encourages self advocacy by ensuring that people are given knowledge and information to enable them to make good informed choices and have control over their lives.

Bridget Steer

Bridget has worked at PIP since 2012. She is a Family Advocate who provides advocacy support to a number of parents with learning disabilities, throughout child protection and care proceedings. Bridget has worked with parents with learning disabilities since 1996, as after working as a teacher for a short time she went on to undertake parenting assessments for the Local Authority and also for an Independent Social Work Consultancy.

Helen Watson

Job Titles:
  • Family Team Coordinator
Helen has been working for PIP since 2003. Prior to that she worked for Birmingham Children's Services for over 20 years. Helen is responsible for the allocation of all referrals to the Family Team, i.e. for advocacy support for parents with a learning disability, and/or mental health issues, plus referrals for the Specialist Family Support service and the management of the family team. Helen also has her own caseload and provides advocacy support to a number of parents with a learning disability, throughout child protection/care proceedings.

Jackie McCormack

Job Titles:

Jackie has worked as a Follow-On Advocate since 2010. Her responsibilities include: Advocating on behalf of Families with Learning Disabilities who are involved with the local Authority and other Professionals. She also supports families to access services that would empower them to sustain a more Independent life. She has a wide range of skills that allow her to support families to overcome barriers that they face on a daily basis.

June Lees

June has worked for PIP since 2004 and worked as administrator and in 2007 joined our training team to research and develop and deliver training Your Rights Your Safety training. I still work on our successful training monitoring and delivering training to people with a learning disability with funding from Big Lottery Reaching Communities. Out training is Safeguarding and Lifestyle .

Kevin Reilly - CEO

Kevin has been the Manager/Chief Executive of PIP since 2000 although he worked in advocacy for nearly 20 years and before that, was a volunteer advocate - with PIP! Kevin works closely with PIP's Management Committee and has overall responsibility for strategic planning as well as day to day operations at PIP.

Margaret Delaney

Job Titles:
  • Early Intervention Support Worker
Margaret joined People in Partnership in October 2017 as an Early Intervention Worker, providing advice and support to parents with Learning Disabilities, within the family home to improve their parenting and reduce the risk to their children. Margaret also delivers training focused on relationships, sexual health and preventing unplanned pregnancy. She has worked with children and adults with learning disabilities since 1995; initially within a school setting and following this, undertaking parenting assessments for the Local Authority. Before joining us at PIP Margaret worked for twelve years as an Independent Advocate providing advocacy to vulnerable adults and parents with learning disabilities.
