As an educational and academic Department, we sponsor a 4 year ACGME accredited anatomic and clinical pathology residency training program, fellowships in Cytogenetics, Medical Genetics and Pathology Informatics, and host Medical Technology clinical training programs in affiliation with Michigan State University and Wayne State University. Our Pathology Residency consistently ranks in the top 5% for academic productivity of all training programs worldwide at the annual meeting of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. The Department oversees the Tissue Biorepository Core supporting basic, clinical and translational research. The Department's clinical research focuses on brain tumor biology and therapeutic drug discovery, epidemiology and genomics of breast and other human cancers and the science of quality..
