In Puyallup, we are working to acknowledge these barriers and addressing them through our model of Integrated Student Supports, so that every student has the opportunity to succeed... For students we serve, barriers to success can look like many things. Students may have unmet basic needs, be marginalized at school, or need support navigating a maze of public and private resources. At Communities In Schools, we are resource navigators, youth advocates, and community organizers. We are here to break down barriers so that all students can write their own version of a success story... At Communities In Schools of Puyallup, we provide both academic and non-academic services so that all students have an opportunity to reach their full potential. Our team of Site Coordinators provide academic, attendance, behavior, and basic needs supports to students by working in schools every day. By partnering with the community, these resources are available to students within the school building.
