ATHENA

ATHENA is a personalized medicine project, supported by the Flemish Agency for Innovation Entrepreneurship (VLAIO), that aims to set-up a privacy-preserving solution with federated data sets on the evolution of cancer patients' disease by combining clinical data with ‘omics' data to find potential causal links and new insights. The project focuses on a federated network of data (connects data of all stakeholders in one data model in which data stays under control of the data owners) of bladder cancer and multiple myeloma patients; bladder cancer is one of the most expensive cancers to manage and multiple myeloma is one of the most complex cancer types exacerbated by a multitude of treatment options.
