Our goal is to help fill this need by creating and administering a growing community of small, attractive homes where seniors can live independently and remain "at home in the Valley." A house, duplex and new cottage are in place. Five more cottages will be added as funding permits... Our vision is that the Elder Home will serve AV by creating a stable, active and involved community of resident elders. When fully built out, AVEH can eventually serve 13-18 residents (based on single vs. double occupancy and with five residents in the house, which will be re-modeled as co-housing). Seniors with a home at AVEH will enjoy continued independence and community involvement. The many services at the neighboring Senior Center, as well as the proximity of the fire department, ambulance and AV Health Center, ensure a safe and secure environment; and quick access to downtown Boonville makes for easy socializing and participation in activities...
