Anika Rahman - CEO

Armida Mendez Russell has earned an international reputation for her work in the field of Organization Development and Diversity Management. She is co-author of The Diversity Directive, Why Some Initiatives Fail and What to Do About It, and author of several organizational climate assessment tools. Cecilia Orellana-Rojas

Cecilia Orellana-Rojas serves as senior vice president of strategy and research for the National Diversity Council. In this role, she oversees the execution of the organization's strategic goals to generate new revenue streams. She leads the consulting function as well as innovative, high-quality educational and research initiatives in diversity and inclusion. She is the creator of the NDC Certification Program curriculum, which prepares professionals for successful careers in the DEI space, and the NDC Index, a tool that measures organizational commitment to diversity and inclusion among companies in the United States. She is also the developer of the NDC Toolkit, a unique diversity reference portal and research consolidator. Cecilia brings 15 years of experience at AT&T, where she started as a manager in diversity marketing. She spent most of her career at the telecommunications giant as associate director and lead consultant of corporate diversity. In this role, she offered support in the formulation, implementation and direction of AT&T's diversity and inclusion strategy including metrics, communications, and training. She also provided consulting in all aspects of workforce diversity. Prior to her corporate role, she worked as a journalist and later taught in academia for more than 10 years in the area of sociology, with emphasis on U.S. race relations, gender, Latin America, and research methods. Cecilia is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. She was instrumental in the launch of the Texas Diversity Council and served as the first president of the San Antonio Advisory Board. As a founding member of the Texas Hispanic/Latino Summit, she played a leadership role in establishing the mission of the summit as a venue for Latino/a voices within the Texas Leadership and Diversity Conference. She has been recognized numerous times with the Diversity Champion Award and Diversity Leadership Award for her commitment and dedication to diversity business practices. Cecilia has served on the Emeritus Board of Directors for the Masters Leadership Program of Greater San Antonio and as an external member of the Workforce and Diversity Committee for the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA). In addition, she has served on the Immigration and Refugees Action Team for the City of San Antonio's Faith-Based Initiative. A native of Chile, Cecilia earned a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree in Latin American studies from the University of New Mexico. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of North Dakota. She resides in San Antonio, Texas, with her husband, Henry, and their son, Rodrigo.

Darlene King

Darlene King began her career with the Michigan Diversity Council-MIDC (a division of the National Diversity Council) in 2015. As the Executive Director, her charge is working with corporations and organizations in developing Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, programs, processes and procedures. Growing the organization in the area of business development as well as growing the organization throughout the entire state of Michigan. Prior to her tenure with the MIDC, she held the role as Director of Event/Consultant Services/Training and Development for all 34 school districts under the Wayne County Regional Educational Service Agency for over 10 years. Her territory covered implementation and execution of all workshops and conference as well as maintaining CEU's for teachers and administrators within Wayne County MI. Dr. Lucy C. Arciniega

Dr. Lucy C. Arciniega has over ten years of experience in the diversity, equity, and inclusion industry. She formerly served as Director of DEI at Salk Institute for Biological Studies where she headed the DEI team. She was responsible for developing and implementing sustainable strategies to further diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Dr. Arciniega functioned as the subject matter expert on DEI and as a strategic partner across the multiple groups and functions that do DEI work at Salk, helped to initiate and measure the success of DEI efforts. She also secured and managed partnerships between Salk and external community members to further the diversification of Salk and the STEM workforce. Dr. Arciniega co-founded Willing Observers with Dr. Melissa Maceyko to provide DEI strategies and services from an organizational culture perspective. Her company uses insights about company beliefs, values, norms, and practices to drive the creation of DEI plans, metrics, training and programming to meet the specific needs and expectations of a company's stakeholders. As a scholar-practitioner on diversity and inclusion, Dr. Arciniega has published academic articles in several peer-reviewed journals, as well as opinion editorials through her column, "Diversity in the Workplace," which was hosted from 2017 to 2019 by the American Anthropology Association, a professional membership organization with over 10,000 members. Dr. Arciniega has worked with the National Diversity Council since 2015, being in the inaugural cohort of the NDC Certification Program. Later, as Managing Director at the National Diversity Council, a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization, she oversaw the NDC Index, an annual survey which measures organizational commitment to diversity and inclusion. In this role, Dr. Arciniega designed the methodology for assessing the results of a 200+ question survey according to global diversity and inclusion best practices. She also designed the NDC Index Report to help companies use their survey results to create an efficient DEI organizational strategy that maximizes their investment in organizational change. Dr. Arciniega has held positions in academia, including as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Business and Organizational Anthropology at Wayne State University. As a trained anthropologist, she has also used her cross-cultural perspective to bring key insights into customer service experience, management leadership strategies, and employee and team engagement dynamics through change management consulting. Lucy C. Arciniega received her Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in Anthropology from the University of California, Irvine. Her doctoral research on the diversity and inclusion industry received numerous awards, including the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research Grant. Dr. Maryse Nazon

Dr. Maryse Nazon is a psychotherapist, consultant, coach, professor and trainer. She holds a Master of Divinity and a Doctoral degree in Psychology and is a certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC) and Co-Occurring Substance Use and Mental Health Disorder Professional (CODP I). She is currently a senior faculty at the University of Phoenix in Chicago and the Alcohol and Other Drug of Abuse (AODA) Certification Program Coordinator at Chicago State University. She has over 35 years of experience in the mental health field and has worked in corrections, child welfare, and mental health. And she has concurrent experiences in management positions of non-for-profit organizations as well as consultation and training. Dr. Nazon conducts seminars and workshops on a variety of psychologically, spiritually and organizational related topics. Dr. Nazon has a special interest in the area of diversity and inclusion. She has taught and trained individuals on issues of cultural diversity, cross-cultural communication and interaction in those are areas as they affect differences of values, perception and behavior.

Eboni Arnold

Eboni is currently the Graphic Design Team Lead for the National Diversity Council (NDC) graphics department. She oversees national team projects, generates graphics for marketing campaigns, provides leadership, motivation, and mentoring to the Graphic Design Team, and supports departmental goals and performance management. Eboni began working with NDC in 2018, shortly after moving to Houston, TX, with her family. What initially brought Eboni to NDC was the opportunity to work as a contract graphic designer however, what has largely contributed to her commitment to the council years later is the aligning mission to be both a resource and an advocate in her community. Before NDC, Eboni worked as the Lead Prepress Technician and Graphic Designer at ViaTech Publishing in Atlanta, Ga. As a Prepress Tech, Eboni onboarded new clients, managed digital assets, created templates, and prepared designs for brands such as Delta Air Lines, IBM, Doosan, YUM!, & SavaSeniorCare. Eboni received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2013 from the Art Institute of Atlanta (AIA), majoring in Media Arts and Animation. When she is not designing, singing, or dancing, Eboni cooks and spends time with her husband, Martinez Arnold, and daughter, Amara Arnold. Eboni takes pride in being heavily involved in her daughters' education and teaches her the importance of being smart, loving god, and being kind by leading by example.

Emily Pfister

Emily (she/her) currently serves as the Event Programmer for the Tri State Diversity Council, a chapter of the National Diversity Council, serving New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. Emily works to plan and oversee Tri State Area events, in addition to managing the chapter's three Advisory Boards and Board of Directors. She has a background in education and comes to the NDC after teaching special education in the state of New Jersey for six years. Emily graduated from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, with her bachelor's degree in Arts and Sciences in 2015, and master's degree in Elementary and Special Education in 2017. Emily resides in Northern, NJ, and is passionate about the field of DE&I. Emily, a woman of color, with the unique perspective of being adopted from China as an infant, is inspired by the vision of the NDC to '[transform] our work places and communities into inclusive environments where individuals are valued for their talents and empowered to reach their fullest potential.'

Erik L. Malewski

Erik L. Malewski is Chief Diversity Officer and Professor of Curriculum Studies at Kennesaw State University. Prior to his appointment, Malewski was Associate Professor of Curriculum Studies at Purdue University where he conducted research and taught courses focused on diversity, multiculturalism, equity, and global issues in education. Malewski has held leadership roles in national and international research organizations and is well published in prominent journals and texts. He has worked in educational equity, private industry, social service, and diversity consulting prior to his role at Kennesaw State University. As faculty, Malewski studied the effects of international cross-cultural experiences on undergraduate students' cultural perceptions. He also engaged in synoptic study of the direction of the curriculum field and examined the implications of conceptions of ignorance for teaching and learning. Along with a colleague, Malewski developed a study abroad program in Honduras for teacher education students and a hybrid place- based and virtual field experience program. Under his mentorship, Malewski's graduate students received national recognition for their research, including the prestigious American Educational Research Association's Outstanding Dissertation of the Year Award. Malewski has published numerous books, articles, and chapters focused on domestic and international diversity issues. Prior to his faculty appointment, Malewski served as the Senior Diversity Advocate within the Office of the Vice Provost for Educational Equity at Pennsylvania State University where he also taught courses in African and African American Studies and Health and Human Development. Prior to that he worked for Illinois Institute of Technology and Paul Robeson High School through a partnership grant focused on teaching graphic design to high school students. He also worked in private industry for AT&T as an organizational manager. Malewski arrived at Kennesaw State University in 2012 after a national search for a new head of diversity. Originally from metropolitan Detroit, Malewski holds a doctorate in curriculum from Pennsylvania State University, where he also earned a Master's in Higher Education Administration. His Bachelor's in Interpersonal, Intercultural, and Organizational Communication is from Loyola University Chicago.

Fargol Hasani

Glenn McIntosh

The career of Glenn McIntosh is filled with pioneering experiences. He currently holds the dual role of senior vice president for student affairs and chief diversity officer at Oakland University (Rochester, Michigan). This position appointment made him the first person at a major university to hold such a unique role. He provides visionary strategic leadership for one of the largest divisions on campus with more 24 departments. He also serves as the co-chair of the Oakland University and City of Pontiac Partnership Initiative. He has successfully led many campus capital projects including the construction of two residence halls, an outdoor recreation and athletic facility, and a major renovation and expansion of the student union. Additionally, he led the establishment of the Gender and Sexuality Center and the Veterans Support Services Office. Previously, McIntosh worked as the assistant vice president and dean of student life. He was the founding director of the Academic Advising Resource Center. He also served as the founding director of the Center for Multicultural Initiatives (formerly the Office of Equity) and established the national award-winning Trustee Academic Success Scholarship program. The program consistently yields one of the highest underrepresented minority student retention and graduation rates in the country. Before joining Oakland, McIntosh held a number of administrative positions at Wayne State University, Eastern Michigan University, and Bowling Green State University. McIntosh shares his time and leadership skills as an active member of many professional and community-based organizations including the Metro Detroit Youth Clubs Board of Trustees, Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program (DAPCEP) Board of Directors, Renaissance Unity Spiritual Center Ministerial Team, Southeast Michigan Omega Foundation Incorporated Board of Directors, and Sacred Heart of Michigan Board Member. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Michigan Chronicle's Man of Excellence Award; the Novell-Levitz Student Retention Excellence Award; the OU Administrative Professional of the Year Award; the Diversity Excellence Award; the Outstanding Professionals of America Award; the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Man of the Year Award; and the NAACP Community Leadership Award. Dr. Chamblee has spent most of her career focused on creating safe, welcoming, supportive spaces for as many different people in as many different settings as possible. This is reflected in 30-plus year career in higher education, during which she has engaged with and served a broad constituency of students - from high school students all the way through Ph.D. candidates - as well as collaborating with and supporting staff, faculty, administrators, and trustees at a variety of institutions. Her primary work has focused on what is now broadly known as diversity and inclusion, though the field has evolved and expanded dramatically since she began her career at Penn State University in the early 1980s. The work of diversity, inclusion, multicultural education, and community engagement blends relatively seamlessly with her life work and purpose, and she came into it in part as the result of having grown up in a large family with civic-minded, civil rights activist, humanitarian parents. Ever since joining the NDC in 2011, Sofia has successfully raised over $1.1 million individually in new fundraising revenue, more than $600,000 of which continues to come into the organization as current revenue. In her current position, Sofia leads the national Partnerships & Events team, which comprises all team members who spearhead market expansion, business development, and event revenue generation efforts organization wide. She builds strategic partnerships with organizations across industries and sectors to help sustain the NDC via revenue generation, community engagement, and in-kind support. In collaboration with the CEO, Sofia also serves as a primary point of contact for the NDC's Board of Directors and spearheads data collection and analysis to provide quarterly reports to the Board on organizational goals. During his four years on IBM's global corporate diversity staff, Stan led IBM into industry leadership in LGBT diversity and established IBM's procedures for supporting transgender employees and assisting with case management of employees undergoing gender transition while in the workplace. Since forming his own consulting practice, Stan has trained or spoken in over 50 venues reaching over 3,000 professionals. He is a certified Out and Equal Workplace Advocates Building Bridges Trainer and a certified Training Management Corp / Berlitz Cultural Competency Trainer / Practitioner. Within the transgender arena, Stan has provided training to client employee and HR teams and has assisted with case management of gender transitions in the workplace. He is active in leadership roles in dozens of community and civic organizations including as a volunteer instructor on his church denomination's leadership development faculty. In 2013, the Triangle Business Journal recognized Stan with one of their Leaders in Diversity - Role Model awards. Stan received his MBA from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business and BS in management science from Georgia Tech. In his spare time, Stan is training to be a competitive adult figure skater.

T.K. Floyd

A desire to help others is a common theme in Tamu Kenyatta (T.K.) Floyd's life, and this desire has motivated many of her personal, educational, and professional pursuits. She tries to live her life in harmony with the well-known phrase "to whom much is given, much is required." T.K. is a consultant, speaker, writer, and editor who is a champion for diversity and inclusion. She serves as a Director for the National Diversity Council. She is also an attorney, trained mediator, and counselor who has been active in the San Antonio community, where she has put into practice her belief in giving back to others through mentoring, pro bono legal services, writing projects, and speaking engagements. T.K. graduated from Purdue University with an undergraduate degree (engineering management) in 1994 and graduate degree (higher education administration) in 1996. She earned her law degree cum laude from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2002. She also received a graduate degree in counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2013. T.K. has had a variety of professional experiences, including currently serving on the faculty of St. Mary's University School of Law as a Law Success Instructor. She previously worked as a commercial litigator for three law firms in San Antonio, Texas and Washington, DC and as a solo family law practitioner in the Law Office of T.K. Floyd, PLLC. She has also served as a law clerk to two federal judges. Outside of her professional activities, T.K. enjoys spending quality time with her son, Benjamin, as well as writing and speaking. Her article "Manage Time as a Parent" was published in the April 2014 issue of Helotes Life magazine. Additionally, she has spoken to a number of groups in the San Antonio community on a variety of topics, including estate planning, critical thinking, stress management, and relaxation techniques.

TyKiah Wright - Wilson

TyKiah Wright - Wilson is a Columbus, Ohio native and respected leader with 18+ years experience in nonprofit executive leadership, workforce development and relationship management. Known for her smile, TyKiah is passionate about connecting with people.. Adept with business operations, partnership development, stakeholder engagement and DEI. She is committed to helping organizations understand that differences drive innovation and is intentional about creating environments where people feel empowered to be their authentic selves. TyKiah is a champion for disability-inclusive diversity and strives to normalize the conversation. In 2016, Wright was recognized as a YWCA of Central Ohio "Woman of Achievement".
