The Trinidad and Tobago Non-Communicable Diseases Alliance (TTNCDA) is an organization guided by a vision to be the lead coordinator and voice of civil society in the fight against non-communicable diseases (NCDs)... Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), also known as chronic diseases, tend to be of long duration. While they are often referred to as "lifestyle" diseases, NCDS are the result of a combination of genetic, physiological, environmental and behavioural factors.(WHO)... Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are no longer found only in affluent countries. According to PAHO, NCDs are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the region of the Americas and are responsible for 80% of all deaths. 35% of NCD-related deaths occur "prematurely" (between the ages of 30 and 70), thus affecting the productivity capacity of countries.
